This page explains what information lucyliu.ca collects, why, and how long it stays around. It applies to this website only and not to any service engagement once we begin working together under a separate agreement.
What I collect
The basics you give me directly. If you email hello@lucyliu.ca or book a call through the Google Calendar link, I receive your name, email address, and whatever you choose to write in the booking notes or message. I keep those messages for as long as we are in conversation and for up to 24 months afterward in case you reach back out.
Anonymous traffic data. Like most websites, this site uses analytics to understand which pages are read and where visitors arrive from. The analytics tool records aggregated, non-identifying information such as approximate region (country or city level), the page you entered on, and how long you stayed. It does not record your name, email address, or anything else that identifies you personally.
What I do not collect. No account is created when you browse. No contact form is present on this site today. I do not sell, rent, or share visitor data with third parties for their own marketing.
Why I collect it
Emails and booking details exist so I can reply to you and prepare for our conversation. Anonymous analytics exists so I can tell which writing is useful to readers and improve the site over time. Both purposes are reasonable and expected when you contact a consultant or visit their website.
Where it lives
Email and calendar data sit in my Google Workspace account, hosted in Canada/US regions under Google's privacy controls. Anonymous analytics data sits with the analytics provider named in the next section. Nothing is stored on third-party advertising networks.
Cookies and similar technologies
The analytics tool may set cookies or local storage identifiers on your browser to distinguish one anonymous visit from another. These are strictly for measuring traffic and are not used to follow you around the web. You can clear or block them in your browser settings without affecting your ability to read this site.
Your rights under PIPEDA and similar laws
Because I operate from Vancouver, BC, the Canadian Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) applies. Under PIPEDA you may ask, at any time, to:
• See what personal information I hold about you
• Correct information that is wrong
• Ask that your information be deleted when there is no legal or contractual reason to keep it
To exercise any of these, email hello@lucyliu.ca from the address you want me to look up. I will respond within 30 days and usually much faster.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 16 and I do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a minor has sent me personal data, email me and I will delete it.
Changes to this page
If I add a contact form, a newsletter, or change analytics providers, I will update the "last updated" date above and revise the relevant section. Material changes will be noted here, not buried.
